Microsoft Smartphones

Google has developed Android as operating system for smartphones and of course Microsoft also came up with Windows Mobile. You can see a lot of amazing and powerful advanced phones that run on one of the mentioned OS. Android has its good parts and has been declared as the best by its users, but let’s not forget about alternatives and what others can do. Windows is planning big things and seems to come with some innovative aspects. Windows Phone Mango 7 comes with over 500 new features and plans to improve three major areas: applications, internet and communication. But until the official release, let’s see some Microsoft smartphones, this said, smartphones that run on Windows platform.

Nokia Lumia 800 is new to our eyes and it seems that Nokia is back on tracks. We have to admit that design is attractive and the phone has integrated social media. Windows software is very fun to use and slick in the same time, you get to have navigation software already on board and free music streaming as well. But on the other side, the camera is average and does not take superb pictures, there is no microSD card slot, the front facing camera is missing, so take your mind off video calling and of course, there aren’t so many applications developed for Windows, such as you see at Android or the iPhone. Nokia has made a big step with this new entry because it is their first model to run on Windows and the OS will be available on their next smartphones from now on. more features of Nokia Lumia 800 include a fast processor, AMOLED screen and camera with Carl Zeiss lens, which is nothing out of the ordinary considering that Nokia has already used these type of lenses. It is worth admiring the solid build of the phone and the overall looks. Social network integration is involved to Facebook and Twitter thanks to the Windows 7.5 software. Also worth mentioning is the strong call quality, even in weak connection areas it is maintained.

Sony Ericsson is another company that uses Windows as OS, but has also a lot of smartphones running on Android, so it seems that variety is number one here. Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 has an interactive panel that allows you to customize your phone depending on how you like it. The full QWERTY keyboard and attractive design are other benefits of the Windows OS. But if you don’t buy this phone along with a carrier, you will be amazed on its high price range. Also, it is worth mentioning that web experience is not the best of them all. The phone is a nice addition and has good ratings thanks to its high customization options, but the price tag will send away lots of users. HTC DD7 runs on Windows Phone 7 and it comes with a large, 4.3” display, solid build quality and a kickstand integrated. Performance level is satisfying and the 5 megapixels camera with HD video recording capabilities is a nice addition. Inside you get 16GB of internal memory, so you can download applications from Windows Market, as new ones are yet to come and be introduced.

Windows is able to compete with Android and iPhone when it comes to its features and interface, so it is best to have another perspective of smartphone operating systems.
