Mobile Phone N97 GPS Navigation
Posted by: CameraPhonesPlaza in N97
Phones got so advanced now that you can find all you need, now they don’t have just some of the features, they have it all and in most cases they succeed in replacing your gadgets, so you don’t need so many around you. They simplify your life and they help you save some more using one gadget.
Such a phone is Nokia N97. It acts as your digital camera (having a great 5 megapixels with Carl Zeiss lens), music player, video player, offers GPS navigation, web navigation, and as a game player and so on. And thus you can imagine how useful a smart phone is and how many improved functions it has. And being Nokia it gives it an extra credit.

Nokia N97 mobile phone has integrated A-GPS sensors, which establish the phone’s location no matter where it is, so you can update your status on Facebook for example, or other social networks and even share your location with your friends and family. And due to some useful applications, you can stream video while you are actually filming it. Other GPS navigation issues include both standalone and assisted GPS, meaning it uses satellites and cellular triangulation in order to establish your position.
Being equipped with Nokia Maps application, the built-in compass will orientate the map depending on your direction. In order to benefit from turn-by-turn directions, voice guidance you will have to pay extra, but for a quick preview, Nokia offers a three-month trial so you can get a bit of the action. It’s pretty nice to have your won navigation system in your pocket and always be able to find your way or a certain location, restaurant, bar, and any other business.

But this is not only the great feature Nokia N97 mobile phone has, it also offers a full QWERTY keyboard, the largest amount of internal memory, which is 32GB and still expandable, 3G support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a great screen resolution. It might not have the best user interface and sometimes scrolling around can be difficult and you need to be a bit firm, but when you see the amazing display and the vibrant colors, you will definitely start loving it.
When it comes to the design, it reassembles a bit the iPhone, having almost the same measurements (4.6 inches tall by 2.1 inches wide by 0.6 inch thick) and weighting 5.29 ounces. It has a solid construction and even if you will use the QWERTY keyboard a lot, the sliding mechanism seems like holding on for a long time. The display itself measures 3.5”, supporting 16.7 million colors and having a 640x360 pixel resolution. You have all the freedom in the world when it comes to customizing the home screen. You can have a maximum of eight widgets and you can arrange them as you desire. The task manager helps seeing which application is running, closing any unwanted applications, switch them around and so on.

The QWERTY keyboard should be tested first, because there are two categories of users out there: the ones loving it and the ones hating it, so it is up to you to see how you feel about it. From the pictures you can see the keys are nicely spaced and have a reasonable layout.
