The Motorola Q11 has finally been given the official treatment, after all, even if it’s not a royal one, with a big press release, frenetic applauses, spotlights and fireworks, but it appeared on Motorola’s website, which might be considered enough in order to make its entrance in the cell phones world. There were rumors about this device for some time now, but we lacked information. The only thing we knew for sure was the fact that Q11 would be the successor of Motorola Q9.

The new device will be dedicated to mobile professionals and consumers who are looking for a smartphone fullye equipped, stuffed with all those features that a mobile phone can have. In addition, there are a QWERTY keyboard for fast messaging, easy access to email accounts, services that help the user find the location and a bunch of multimedia applications. The important thing is that all of these features are included in a very affordable price.
The Q11 is a slim phone, measuring 117 x 64 x 11.7 millimeters and weighing 115 grams, and has an integrated WiFi, ideal for people who want to browse the Internet with overwhelming speeds. The built-in WiFi is based on Boingo Mobile, which helps to automatically connect the device to numerous WiFi locations worldwide. The phone sports a 3 megapixel camera equipped with Fixed Focus, LED Flash and 8x zoom, and can be used to capture memories of a lifetime within high-quality photos and video which can further be stored on a memory card (which is optional, by the way). The road from the card to your personal computer, and then to your favorite networking sites is free. The 2.4-inch TFT 262 K display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels should be a great help if you want to view Internet pages or photo slides, while the videorecorder supports RVm MPEG4, H.264, WMV formats in 15 fps.
In addition, the Q11 is provided with a QWERTY keypad for fast and easy messaging on-the-go, while the integrated GPS is what you need when it comes to navigation support (for applications like Google Maps). Featuring 128 MB Flash and 64 MB of RAM, Q11 is also provided with a microSD card slot designed to increase the storage with 32 GB. Therefore, the Windows Mobile 6.1 should run pretty smoothly, enabling users to personalize their homescreen and synchronize all contacts, calendar items and email. It’s like using your own personal computer. Other features include advanced multimedia and messaging capabilies and Bluetooth 2.1 and microUSB connectivity.
The battery, rated at 1179 mAH capacity, has a life of up to approximately 450 minutes talk time and up to approximately 196 hours standby time. As it has a quad-band GPRS/EDGE Class 10, Motorola Q11 is undoubtedly designed to function all over the world.
MOTO Q11 is expected to become available in December 2008, but the price is not confirmed yet, though Motorola announced that the phone will deliver its features at an affordable price. Whatever that means!
