Motorola Renew and the green cell phones

This is a great beginning for the guys over Motorola and there’s no doubt about it. Not to mention the fact that it’s a great green beginning which follows, after all, the natural course of things, carefully respected by all cell phones manufacturers.

There were lots of rumors about the Motorola Renew, a brand new cell phone which is expected to be released by the American carrier T-Mobile, sometime in February. The rumors are now completed with a leaked photo that reveals a low-end handset which won’t be on everyone’s liking, as it’s equipped with just basic features that a cell phone should have.

The official name of this green cell phone is Moto W233 Renew and has nothing to do with other famous handsets that are to be released in about the same period, like the Samsung Memoir or the highly-anticipated BlackBerry Curve 8900. The new candybar looks very much like another similar device, the Motorola W231, which seems to be the predecessor of the W233.

The best thing about this handset is that it’s made from all sorts of eco-friendly materials, which is precisely what the whole world is looking for nowadays. If you’re curious about the features the W233 comes equipped with, let me tell you they include: an MP3 player, FM radio with RDS, the very well-known CrsytalTalk technology and microSD card support which helps the user expand the internal memory of the phone, of up to 2GB.

Unfortunately, there is no information about the price of the Motorola Renew, but it must be in accordance with the fact that we’re talking about a low end device. If you’re interested in green cell phones, then the W233 might be perfect for you, but you must be patient. Until February 4.
