Motorola V551 Cell Phones

Having a great success with its new mobile phone models, Motorola has launched a new model of flip phones with a great combination between features and design named Motorola V551 cell phones. Motorola has proven that you can buy a mobile phone with many technology features at a low price. With a price of $55, the Motorola V551 cell phones are one of the cheapest mobile phones ever seen.

With a case made of perforated metal with a colorized exterior, the Motorola V551 cell phones are sleek with a nice aspect. With only 1.9 x 1 x 3.5 inches in dimensions and 4 ounces in weight, these mobile phones are very slim and light. On the front side (when lid is closed), you will see a blue monochrome display which allow you to see the time, battery and signal levels as well as call information.

Below this display you can find a VGA camera with a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Even if this camera has only a 4x digital zoom, you will be able to take photos at a reasonable quality.  On the sides you will find a Smart key, volume keys and a Voice key (allows you to use the voice dialing feature or to record voice memos). On the top and bottom of the phone you can find a headphone jack, a charger port and an accessory connector.

When you open the lid, you will see a 1.8 LCD TFT display with a native resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. This display supports 65K colors and it will offer you good quality pictures with a great contrast. Below the display you will notice the keypad. The keys are flat, very large with enough space between them, so you can easily write on them, even if you are a fast writer. For menu navigation, the Motorola V551 cell phones have two soft keys, a special Menu key and a 4-D key. These keys are easy to press and are very responsive. There are also Call and End keys, a Camera and a WAP key.

The Motorola V551 is a GSM Quad-Band (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) phone compatible with almost all GSM networks. Being a mid-level mobile phone, it doesn’t have many high-end technology features, but the basic features like Bluetooth, PC sync, GPRS, EDGE, WAP 2.0 and Data port make this phone attractive to quite a large number of customer. Like all similar models, the Motorola V551 supports MP3 and MIDI sound formats, so you can listen to music every time you want. The external speaker has a loud volume, producing a clear sound. If you want to listen to music and the volume of the internal speaker isn’t enough, you can attach a pair of headphones with the integrated headphones jack.

The most disappointing aspect is that this phone has only 5 MB of free space. Since it lacks a card slot, you can store only one or two songs (depends on format) and several images. The Li-Ion battery is capable of keeping this handset up for 237 minutes of conversation and up to 173 hours in standby mode. Anyway, even if these Motorola V551 cell phones don’t have many features and they are not exactly  powerful, for such a small price it really is a great mobile phone.
