New Samsung phone for the British

When it first appeared in the spotlight a month and a half ago, the Samsung S7220, also known as the Eltz, was expected to be officially announced at the 2009 edition of the Mobile World Congress that took place in Barcelona back in February.

But surprise, surprise! The MWC began with much ado, came to an end and there was no word about the Eltz. It seems, however, that the South Korean company had other plans for this slim candybar, as it decided to release it (officially, as we’ve been promised some time ago) in the United Kingdom. It’s just that they decided to change its name. The Samsung S7220 won’t be Eltz, but Lucido, which means “sleek” in Italian.

The features it will come equipped with include: quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 900/1200 UMTS, 7.1 Mbps connectivity, a 2.2 inches QVGA AMOLED display, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, an integrated accelerometer, FM radio, assisted GPS navigation, Google Maps, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR connectivity, USB 2.0 and a microSD card slot for expandable memory. The new Samsung phone measures approximately 114 x 46.3 x 11.8 millimeters.

As far as the price is concerned, there are no details available at this moment, but what we know for sure is that the Lucido will start selling in the United Kingdom sometimes at the beginning of the next month.
