New Sony Ericsson unlocked cell phone in the US
Posted by: Maria Mihale in Sony Ericsson
I suppose you’re getting sick and tired with the amount of articles you’ve read lately about Sony Ericsson, but there’s nothing I can do about it, because it seems that the company has prepared all sorts of surprises for its customers. I’ve told you about Idou being baptized, once again, as Satio, about the green cell phones that are expected to come out in the near future, based on the same technology that is available within the GreenHeart, and about Aino, the latest Sony Ericsson slider.

That’s that. The words have been written and transmitted to all of you, so no reason for excuses right now. So allow me to share with you another piece of good news. It seems that the Sony Ericsson W995, a phone that was announced along with the Idou (or Satio, you can call it either way), is expected to hit the American market sometime during this summer. It’s just that this time it will appear under the name of Sony Ericsson W995a.
To be more precise, the phone will be available starting July 6 and it will be the next Sony Ericsson unlocked cell phone. Unfortunately, the W995a will be sold for a hefty price: $599.99, free of contract.

Now, allow me to refresh your memory as far as the features are concerned: quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), tri band UMTS/HSPA connectivity (850/1800/1900 MHz), a 2.6 inch QVGA display that is resistant to scratches, a 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and smile shutter, assisted GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP, 3.5mm headset jack and an external memory of 8GB (an M2 memory card). The phone measures 3.8 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches and measures 4.0 ounces.
