Nokia 1600

If you are not a technology fan and don’t want to pay a lot of money on a mobile phone, you can choose the Nokia 1600, a basic phone which was introduced on the market in 2005. At a price of $29 you get enough technology to stay in touch with your friends at any time. This mobile has a slim plastic case with a combination of gray and silver.
Because the Nokia 1600 is a basic phone, it doesn’t have a lot of new features. The most important features which are missing on this phone are the camera (so you cannot take pictures or record clips), Bluetooth connection (so you cannot connect with other computers or phones), USB connection (so you cannot transfer any data on your PC) and the WAP (you cannot access the internet with this phone). With this phone the Nokia officials wanted to offer the world a basic phone that can call or send SMS without having a lot of technology. This mobile phone has a weight of 85g and 104 x 45 x 17 mm dimensions and it feels pretty comfortable in your hands.

The Nokia 1600 has 4 MB of free memory for some basic pictures, because the 96 x 68 pixels display supports only 65k colors. This phone also has some basic polyphonic ring-tones and only 3 Java games. Even if you want more Java games it is not possible because there is no downloadable Java applications for this mobile. But with such a small display you will not be satisfied by the quality of images.
The phonebook can store only 200 contacts which is quite a low number for a phone in our days. A positive aspect of this phone is its security. You can set up a pin code on your mobile or on your SIM card; you can put a pin code for unlocking the keypad or for entering menu. Practically you can put a pin code to block any action you want. This is a good thing if you are a business man and don’t want people messing around with your phone.

The basic calculator, converter, stop watch, count down, alarm clock, reminder and the calendar aren’t missing here. These features are useful and very easy to use. The speaking clock is an attractive feature which tells you what time it is. Press and hold the “*” button you will hear a female voice which tells you what’s the time.
The Nokia 1600 is a Dual-band GSM (GSM E850 / 1900 and E900 / 1800) phone. The Li-On battery will keep your phone up for more than 4 hours of conversation or 450 hours in standby mode. This is an impressive aspect because you can use it for a long time without the need to recharge it.

The phone comes with a battery, a charger and a manual. The headphones are not included but if you want a pair of these you can buy them for just $5. Because Nokia 1600 is a basical phone, it doesn’t have a lot of features which can make you proud. But if you want a simple and cheap mobile phone, that’s what you need.
