Another mid-level mobile phone made by Nokia is the Nokia 3500. With an attractive design and an accessible price, the Nokia 3500 makes a nice impression with its 2 Megapixel camera, integrated FM Radio and a nice and easy to use Music Player.



When describing this mobile phone we can say that it has a “candy-bar” case made of resistant plastic, available in a lot of colors. The reviewed model is a black one and the truth is that it looks amazing. With 107 x 45 x 13.1 mm in dimensions and 81 grams in weight, this cell phone feels very comfortable. Having a case with rounded edges and a nice glossy finish, you certainly will love this mobile phone. Like all Nokia “candy-bar” models, the Nokia 3500 comes on the front side with a TFT display and the numerical pad. Below the display two soft keys are placed and a joystick for menu navigation and the usual Call and End keys. On the sides you will find two volume keys, the Power On / off button, a USB port, a charging port and a headset jack. As we said, this cell phone is a mid-level one so it will not impress you with a lot of high-end features. Instead, it will impress you with its design simplicity.



The Nokia 3500 comes with a 1.8 inch TFT display with a native resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. Even if this display is poor, it is capable of supporting 256K colors, so you will receive clear images with a nice quality of colors. The numerical pad, placed below the display, makes me a nice impression. The keys are flat and large, with a nice aspect.



These keys are very responsive so you will be able to write messages very comfortable. Maybe one of the strongest points of this cell phone is the camera. Even if in our days a 2 Megapixel camera looks somehow mediocre, the Nokia 3500 is capable of taking clear photos with a nice image quality at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. For storing your images, songs or other files, the Nokia 3500 has 8.5 MB of internal memory which, thanks to the microSD card slot, can be extended up to 2 GB.  For entertainment, this mobile phone offers you an integrated FM Radio (which allows you to listen to your favorite radio stations), a music player (which supports MP3, MP4, AAC and AAC+ formats) and JAVA support (with this feature you can download a lot of mobile games or applications and run them on this cell phone).



For connectivity, the Nokia 3500 doesn’t offer many solutions. It is a Tri-Band (900 / 1800 / 1900) device and supports GSM, GPRS and EDGE networks. It comes with Bluetooth and miniUSB features for you to be capable to connect with other devices easily. For keeping a good battery life, the Nokia 3500 comes with a standard Li-Ion 820 mAh battery which manages to keep this mobile phone on for almost 3 hours of conversations and up to 280 hours in standby mode. If you are not satisfied by these values, you can buy a secondary battery which will significantly improve the unit’s life. Anyway, for a mid-level mobile phone, we can say that the Nokia 3500 is a powerful handset and having the low price of $99 it certainly is a good choice for you.
