Nokia 8208 has the FCC approval

When the dual-slide Nokia 8208 was first announced, the Finnish company said that it won’t ever hit the American market, because it was targeted at other countries, such as China and India. Nevertheless, the CDMA phone has just been given the approval of the FCC, but it seems that it will have the chance to become available in the United States under the name of RM-384.

On the other hand, it’s not compulsory that the decision will be followed by the release of the phone. But, if Nokia wants to make the American people a surprise and change its mind as far as the release of the Nokia 8208 is concerned, something like this will be possible, because there must be a North American CDMA provider to hurry up and sell it.

The dual-slide phone comes with the following features: a 2.2 inch display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, a 3 megapixel camera with flash, GPS connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, external music keys, 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio, a user interface similar to the Nokia S40, an internal memory of 150MB and a microSD card support for expandable memory of no more than 16GB.

The device measures 101 x 45.2 x 15.9 millimeters and weighs 126.3 grams. As for the battery, it provides up to 4 hours of talk time and approximately 11 days of stand-by time. We don’t know if and when the phone will come in the United States, but if we take into consideration the fact that Verizon has just released an impressive number of Nokia devices, then the chances are significant for it to become available.
