Nokia clamshell mobile phones for the American people
Posted by: Maria Mihale in Nokia, T-Mobile
Nokia announced a couple of days ago that one of its handsets, the 7510, a clamshell that is part of the Supernova range, will be available for purchasing on the American market, sold exclusively by T-Mobile USA. The cell phone is expected to bring a high “level of customization and functionality†for its users.
If you remember well, there were many rumors about the 7510 Nokia device hitting the American market (they started sometime in December), but now it’s official.

Even if the clamshell will not have the “Supernova†tag when sold in the United States, that doesn’t mean that it dropped its family heritage. This means that, following the example of the Supernova edition sold in Europe, the clamshell runs on the same Nokia platform, the S40.
The features of the Nokia 7510 include: a 2.2 inch QVGA TFT internal display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, a 2 megapixel camera equipped with LED flash, 4x digital zoom and Nokia Image Perfection System (also known as NIPS), a quad band GSM / GPRS / EDGE connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), UMA connectivity, FM radio with RDS (or Radio Data System), digital music player compatible with file formats such as MP3, AAC and AAC+, support for POP3 and IMAP4 email accounts, an internal memory that can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 8GB.
Other impressive features are the external display (which you cannot see as it’s hidden) and the Xpress-On covers, available in a wide variety of colors such as Fatal Red, Emerald Green and Espresso Brown. Measuring 3.64 x 1.83 x 0.66 inches and weighing 4.37 ounces, the Nokia 7510 will become available at the end of this month, in select T-mobile retail stores and online at T-Mobile’s official website.
“The Nokia 7510 will be a great addition to our lineup because it features changeable faceplates, which means our customers can easily personalize their phone day-to-dayâ€, said Travis Warren, Director of Device Marketing at T-Mobile USA. In addition, he said that “the unique hidden-until –lit display further illustrates the cool features of the device that our customers are sure to loveâ€.
