Nokia Image Exchange Lite, now on S40 phones

When the Nokia Image Exchange first made its appearance, the Finnish company said it was targeted at those cell phones that were running on Symbian S60 only, being nothing but an imaging application developed from scratch by the guys over Nokia Beta Labs.

The Java application is designed to be used by Nokia cell phones owners in order to upload, to publish and, of course, to share images. This way, they can invite more and more people to use the Image Exchange.

Presented by Nokia as an application that “is intended to be an image uploading and sharing utility instead of a gallery application”, the Nokia Image Exchange was first aimed at the Symbian S60 devices. But it seems that from now on it can be installed also on phones that are compatible with the previous operating system, the S40.

The new version will be known under the name of Lite and it doesn’t back-up the images in an automatic way, which means user will be able to more easily use it if they don’t have “flat-flee data plan or Wi-Fi connections”.

Once downloaded, the users will also be able to receive the images that are being shared by their users and to comment on those pictures that are either shared or published. What people should do is to register, and then things will function in the future based on the automatic registration and on the contact information that you’ll provide.

For more information, you should go to the Nokia Image Exchange Image where the application can be downloaded.
