Nokia Mobile

The Nokia X3 was officially launched at the same time with its “big brother” – the Nokia X6. At this time, the XSeries is composed by two very different cell phone models. The Nokia X6 is a full touch screen device which runs a Symbian interface and the Nokia X3 is a cheaper slider with a S40 operating system. It has stereo speakers, a great audio quality and a FM Radio with internal antenna. Because it doesn’t have many great features you can get it for a price of $174.

Anyway, at first look, this Nokia mobile phone doesn’t reveal anything impressive. It has a slider case made of resistant plastic available in a lot of customizable colors. The design is pleasant. Having 96 x 49.3 x 14.1 mm in dimensions and 103 grams in weight, the Nokia X3 is categorized like a slim and light mobile phone, thing which is true considering these dimensions. This handset has proven to feel very comfortable and will fit great in any pocket. The design is a bit too simple and it gives the phone a common aspect without drawing much attention. The front side is occupied by a 2.2 inch TFT display, three music player controls (placed on the left side of the display) and the navigation buttons (including two soft keys, a D-pad button and the Call and End keys). On the sides you will find two volume keys, a camera shutter and a Lock button. On the top side you will find a 3.5 mm jack, a microUSB port and a charger port.

The 2.2 inch TFT display is a bit too small considering the dimensions of this Nokia mobile phone. But having a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and supporting 256K colors, it seems to be a good choice of the Nokia designers. Being a mediocre display it will not be very visible under sunlight, a surprising aspect for a Nokia mobile phone. The sliding system is solid, even if is not one of the best. A great feature of this cell phone is the numerical pad. The keys are large, very well delimited and offer a good positive feedback. For taking photos, the Nokia X3 comes equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 15336 pixels. Even if it lacks a flash or autofocus, you will be capable to take great quality pictures. It also can record clips with a mediocre QCIF resolution and a speed of 15 fps.

When it comes to connectivity, this Nokia mobile phone lacks Wi-Fi and 3G so if you want to navigate on the internet you will need to settle for the EDGE connectivity. But you must not be worried about network area connectivity. This cell phone is a Tri-Band device and supports GSM, GPRS and EDGE networks so you will never be out of network area coverage. For other kind of connectivity, it comes equipped with Bluetooth and miniUSB. With only 46 MB of free space you will be capable to store only several files, but thanks to the microSD card slot you can extend it up to 16 GB. Anyway, having a standard Li-Ion battery capable of keeping this cell phone on for almost 8 hours of conversations and up to 200 hours in standby mode, this cell phone can be a great choice for those who want a practical handset.
