Limited Edition N96

While searching for news about the Nokia N96 release date I’ve found something interesting on the company’s website, more exactly on the product’s official page. There is a special offer of the upcoming Nokia N96 multimedia computer, consisting of a limited edition available before the launch of the handset, meaning you have 2 ways of getting your hands on this high-end device before finding it in stores.

To be among the first who own the Nokia N96 you’d have to either donate or compete for it. Nokia involved in an important campaign to help saving the red pandas in Nepal and if you want to give a helping hand too you could donate 769 EUR to WWF independent conservation organization, and receive the Limited Edition Nokia N96 in return.

If you want to compete, then you’d have to answer a question and submit the entry to win one of the 96 handsets coming in a nicely decorated ash free box with a special numbering on the inside cover, additional content in raw silk bags, an 8GB microSD card for a total storage capacity of 24GB, and a leaflet presenting the WWF project.

Nokia N96 unveiled at Mobile World Congress is a multimedia computer working on WCDMA2100/900 ( HSDPA)/EGSM900 and GSM850/1800/1900 MHz (EGPRS), with automatic bands and modes switching, measuring 103 x 55 x 18 mm at 125 grams. It comes with 16GB flash memory, hot swappable memory card support, space for 40 hours of video or 12,000 songs, 128 MB RAM, 256MB system memory, up to 3.6Mbps transfer speeds, video player, Internet browser with flash video support, Live TV, GPS, A-GPS, email, RSS reader, WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and a built-in 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, auto exposure, 5.2 mm focal length, dual-LED camera flash, as well as a secondary camera for video calls.

It provides up to 220 minutes of talk time, 220 hours of standby, 5 hours of video playback, 14 hours of music playback and up to 4 hours of TV playback.

The release date is set for quarter 3 this year and we expect it in stores in the next 2 months at a starting price of about $750. Read more about the Nokia N96 release date.
