As you all know by now, because this handset has been intensely talked about lately, the Nokia N97is expected to see the light of the day sometime during this month. But it seems there is a North American version of the cell phone, called the N97 NAM, which is currently available for those who are interested in purchasing it.



This happens after the Finnish company decided to reveal the fact that their flagship mobile computer is going to be sold all over the world, in more than 75 countries. We weren’t told, back then, the names of those countries, but who would have dared to imagine that North America is not on that list?



So, if you’re an American and you’d really like to see what the N97 is capable of, then pay a visit to the nearest flagship store from New York or Chicago, where you’ll find the device. It is being sold unlocked under a price of $699.

Rumors say that in those flagship stores you will only find the black version of the phone, so those who wanted the white version will have to satisfy themselves with a pre-order from the official website of Nokia USA. Worried about the price? Have no fear, if want white, white it is and for the same amount of money.

Now let’s recap the most important features of the Nokia N97, even if you might already be sick and tired with them: quad band GSM and tri band HSDPA connectivity, a 3.5 inches TFT touch sensitive display with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and 16 million colors, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics, LED flash and VGA video recording capabilities, full QWERTY keyboard, GPS and assisted GPS, Wi-Fi, digital compass, TV out, an internal memory of 32GB and microSDHC card slot for no more than 16GB of external memory. The phone runs on the Symbian S60 5th edition.
