Official photos of the Samsung S5050?

Well, to put it bluntly, these pictures you’re about to see are not official. What I want to say is that the Samsung S5050, a slider phone that you have probably heard by now, was unveiled for the first time back in February (at the beginning of this year), when there weren’t many details available.

The phone has just made its appearance through a number of press photos, even if it wasn’t officially presented by the South Korean company, a situation we have had the chance to often experience.
If you’re a big fan of Samsung cell phones, then you must have a very intuitive eye, able to perceive the similarities between new and older devices. This one, for example, has something of the touch of another Samsung phone, the S5200, which has just been given the official treatment in Russia.

The most important and visible difference consists of the fact that the S5050 comes with a QVGA AMOLED screen, while the S5200 is equipped with a TFT display.
But let’s go further with the specs of the S5050: quad band GSM/EDGE connectivity, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, an internal memory of 40MB and a microSDHC card slot for expandable memory of no more than 8GB.
The phone measures 105 x 49 x 14.6 millimeters and weighs approximately 102 grams, coming with an 800 mAh battery. As for the availability, the Samsung S5050 will start selling sometime this summer, for a retail price of $235 (with approximation, of course).
