Rumors say Palm's new version of their PalmOS will be based on a Linux Kernel. But don't worry, it seems that the new OS will still maintain some compatibility with Palm OS 5 Garnet (the latest version). This new Linux Kernel based OS will be Palm's homegrown OS and it will not be licensed to other manufacturers. The recent agreement between Palm and Opera make us think Opera will be the default browser.
Palm devices based on the Linux Kernel should appear before the end of the year, but some PalmOS 5 devices will still be introduced later this year.

The only good thing about concepts is that it looks good. Because, we know that probably we'll never see one, or not that soon at least. But still, we got to admit, we all love concepts. Here's the latest, "Sleek & Slim" Concept Phone from SKY. The phone has a discretely glowing touchpad, hideaway keys and generally utterly-fashionable minimalist design. As I said, too bad we'll never probably see one in stores. Click for more photos.

In December 2004, the Federal Communications Commission adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that examined the existing rule that requires passengers to turn off their cell phones once an aircraft leaves the ground, in order to avoid any interference with the cellular network systems on the ground or with the aircraft's navigation and communication systems.
Lately they announced the possibility that this ban will be removed, but after irrelevant test results they decided to keep the ban, as it is not sure it is safe to remove it.
To keep this ban might actually be a good decision. While mobile phone use could prove to be safe, until such facts are presented, it wouldn't really be worth the risk. Also, according to a survey, most passengers stated that they preferred the ban to be kept, believing that in-flight mobile phone use can be disruptive.

T-Mobile finally decided to launch the
Motorola KRZR K1. The successor of the RAZR comes with MyFaves at $150 after rebates and is offered in a champagne-color version, and not the common Blue one, offered by AT&T Cingular for some time now. We guess that T-Mobile will soon offer other color-versions of the phone too.
Features of the
Motorola KRZR K1 include 2-megapixel camera, microSD slot for memory, two color displays and Stereo Bluetooth support, all packed in narrow glossy body.

A czech website posted a video demo on a bluetooth controlled car through an application installed on a Nokia Symbian phone. This is pretty cool and is also simple enough, you use your navigation button to control the car movement (left, right, accelerate and brake). I wonder if you can drift or make a 180 turn.
