The American operator Cingular Wireless has published a PowerPoint presentation stating release dates and prices for the Treo 680 and Cingular 8525 communicators. I’d remind you that the Treo 680 is a budget communicator announced by Palm in October. The company didn’t provide the approximate price then.
Cingular will offer the Treo 680 for $424.99 without the contract and discounts, and for $349.99 and $174.99 after some discounts. The release is scheduled for November 5.
Cingular 8525 is based on HTC Hermes platform like HTC TyTN. It is expected the other day. The recommended price makes up $559.99 or lower after discounts.

The latest Japan gizmo is a phone that has the ability to recognize its owner and automatically lock when the owner gets too far away from it. It can also be found via satellite in case you lose it.
The P903i from NTT DoCoMo comes with a small black card that works as a security key by connecting wirelessly with the cell phone. If the owner keeps the card in his pocket, the phone recognizes when the card moves too far away and locks automatically to prevent others from making a call. People who lose their security cards can unlock the phone by entering a password.
The phone also has a facial identification feature. Here's how that works. Owners must first take at least three photos of themselves with the phone's camera. Then, if the facial-recognition feature is turned on, the phone analyzes features such as distance between the eyes and unlocks the phone if the image matches the stored data.
Pricing for the P903i has not been set yet.
