Nokia 6020

Being a successful mobile phone manufacturer, the Nokia Company needs to launch cell phones for all user categories. For those people who are looking for a practical mobile phone, the market has the Nokia 6020 to offer. This handset comes with a business aspect and several decent features at an affordable price of $69.

The Nokia 6020 is a mid-level mobile phone which even if is not equipped with Bluetooth, MMC card slot and a big internal memory; it has been launched with a huge success, quickly becoming a very popular device.

In terms of design, the Nokia 6020 comes with a classic candy-bar case made of resistant plastic available in a nice graphite color. With 106 x 44 x 20 mm in dimensions, 90 grams in weight and a case which has rounded edges and corners, this Nokia handset is one of the most comfortable devices from its range. The front side of the phone comes with a classic aspect. It hosts a display and a numerical pad. Between the display and the numerical pad some hardware navigation buttons are placed: two soft keys, the call and end buttons and a 5-way joystick. This joystick even if is easy to use, will present malfunctions if you force it. The numerical pad of this cell phone is good. There can be a problem for those people who have thick fingers because the keys are quite small. Even so, these keys are very responsive and you will feel comfortable typing on them. On the sides, you will notice a Power On / off button, two volume control buttons, a Push-to-Talk key, an Infrared port, an additional speaker and a pop-port plus a charger port.

The display used on this cell phone is a TFT one with 1.5 inches in diagonal and a native resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. Even if it comes with support for 65K colors, it has a low resolution, the image quality is poor. A nice aspect of this display is that it remains visible even if you use the phone in direct sunlight. An attractive feature for a mid-level mobile phone is a camera. The 6020 is equipped with an integrated VGA camera capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Even if this camera is low and lacks a flash, it is great for such a cheap handset. The internal memory of the phone has only 3.5 MB of free space, so you can store only several pictures, polyphonic ringtones or screensavers.

For connectivity, the Nokia 6020 is a Dual-Band device (GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900) and comes with support for GSM, GPRS and EDGE. For other kind of connectivity it is equipped with USB and Infrared. The sound quality and signal level are good. The speaker offers a clear sound with a loud volume. Thanks to the SMS, EMS, MMS and Instant-messaging functions, you will be able to keep in touch with your friends anytime. A surprise offered by this phone is the Push-to-Talk feature. Even if this service is not available in many world locations, it is still something very useful.  The battery life of the phone is assured by a Li-Ion 760 mAh battery which manages to keep the phone on for up to 3 hours of conversations and up to 330 hours in standby mode.

Dell Smartphone

Announced in March 2010, the Dell Aero will be the second Android device for AT&T, after the Motorola BackFlip. It is also the first smartphone made by Dell, the great laptop manufacturer. It promises to be a strong rival for those top-rated smartphones like iPhone or Nokia N97. This Dell smartphone will be equipped with a huge touch screen, an impressive camera and many other powerful features, each having as target to make the Aero one of the best handsets.

The Dell Aero comes with a classic candy-bar form, with a case made of resistant plastic and a nice finish made of a combination between silver and black. These colors give a business aspect and make the phone look solid. The case has rounded edges and corners and having reasonable dimensions (these values were not disclosed by manufacturer), the Dell Aero promises to be very comfortable and portable. The front side of the phone hosts only a huge touch screen and above it, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. Having a very responsive display, the Aero doesn’t have any navigation buttons on the front side. The sides of this Dell smartphone present a miniUSB port (useful for charging the phone, attaching headphones or connecting it to a PC), a microSD card slot, a camera shutter, a volume rocker and a Power On off button. Anyway, even if the phone looks great, to be a top-rated device it needs to come with impressive features.

In terms of technology, the Aero will make a positive impression. The TFT capacitive touch screen has 3.5 inch in diagonal and a native resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. It also supports 256K colors so the quality of the images will be excellent. Armed with proximity sensor for auto-turn off and accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, this display is one of the strongest points of the phone. As we said, this Dell smartphone comes with an impressive camera. This camera has a 5 Megapixel sensor and it is capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Armed with autofocus, LED flash and geo-tagging, this camera will take great quality photos with a high level of details even if you are planning to take photos in a dark environment. Being so powerful, this camera can also record VGA clips at a speed of 30 fps. The internal memory of the phone offers 2 GB of free space. If you are not satisfied by it, you can extend it up to 32 GB with a microSD card.

When it comes to connectivity, the Dell Aero comes with a long list of features. Equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth v2.1, miniUSB, GPS with A-GPS support and support for GSM, GPRS, EDGE, 3G and HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, this handset will keep you in touch with your friends every time, everywhere you will be. We can’t forget about the most important feature of this cell phone: the Android operating system. This operating system has proven to be more powerful than the classic Windows Mobile and offers a more interactive and easy to use interface. The menus of the phone are good structured so you will be able to access any function easily. The phone is powered by a Li-Po 1000 mAh but the manufacturer doesn’t disclose the real battery life values.
