Sophisticated Sony Ericsson slider

I had enough with the impressive amount of new about HTC and their popular handset, the Magic, which is expected to be the handset to crown the hard working and incredible efforts. I guess I told you before about HTC’s big summer plans according to which more than 1 million units of the Magic are to shipped in the next months.

So let’s try to focus our attention on something else, because I don’t think I’d have a very peaceful reaction if I had to write again about HTC and their latest accomplishments.

It seems that Sony Ericsson has just announced a brand new device, the so-called T715 which is presented by the company as a sophisticated Sony Ericsson slider to help you become a very organized person, with so many features like direct reminders of the appointments you have during the day, notes and special animation that are all designed to remind you of important dates such as global events or birthdays.

The phone has an internal memory of 90MB, but there’s the possibility for you to increase it using a SanDisk microSD. The new Sony Ericsson slider measures 91.5 x 48 x 14.9 millimeters and weighs approximately 96.5 grams. It is equipped with a battery that provides up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 400 hours of stand-by time on GSM/GPRS, 4 hours of talk time and 350 hours of stand-by time on UMTS, and no more than 3 hours of video call time.

The T715 is expected to become available sometime during the third quarter in two different colors: Galaxy Silver and Rouge Pink, but the price is still unknown.

Full Adobe Flash support for the Hero

Come on, guys! What’s with this question? After the sensation it created when it first appeared in the spotlight, the least you could do is to know who Hero is. Because, so that you know, HTC is so very proud about its second Android-based device and it won’t ever forgive if you act like you don’t know what the phone is all about.

And because the official announcement about the HTC Hero was not enough, here you have some extra news that might impress you even more. It seems that the smartphone that has just been unveiled will come with support for the Adobe Flash Platform technology. With full support, as a matter of fact.

The information is very interesting, you have to admit, because this way Hero will be able to ensure an improved Web browsing experience and to provide, in addition, an easy access to a wide variety of files that are based on the Flash technology.

“As the first Android device with Flash, the new HTC Hero represents a key milestone for Android and the Flash Platform. With close to 80 percent of all videos online delivered with Adobe Flash technology, consumers want to access rich Web content on-the-go”, said David Wadhwani, the Vice President and General Manager, Platform Business Unit at Adobe. “The collaboration with HTC offers people a more complete Flash based Web browsing experience today and presents an important step towards full Web browsing with Flash Player 10 on mobile phones in the future.”

In addition, HTC made another announcement related to their intense activity. It seems that the company decided to join forces with 26 other companies that are part of the Open Screen Project, one of those being Adobe. The purpose is to “deliver a consistent runtime across screens and to provide access to all Flash technology based Web content in the future”.

A new HTC cell phone is official

HTC is going through a very good phase in the past couple of weeks, as many of the company’s devices are being announced and launched in markets from all over the world. As many of you, our readers, expected, HTC has just come up with a new cell phone running on the Android platform. It’s called HTC Hero, and we have had the chance to see it a couple of times before.

The Hero is official right now and what we see in the pictures can be considered a mixture between the two Android handsets that HTC released in the past, the G1 and the Magic. Even if the Hero doesn’t come with a hardware keyboard, you should worry no more, because, due to the Android 1.5 operating system, there is a software QWERTY keyboard.

The list of features consists of the following elements: a 3.2 inches touch sensitive display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and resistance to fingerprints, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus (there’s no Flash involved), GSM and HSDPA connectivity, an accelerometer, Wi-Fi and GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, many Google applications and services such as Google Maps and Google StreetView and microSDHC card slot for expandable memory.

a-new-htc-cell-phone-is-official-02

It seems that the HTC Hero will be available in a white version and rumors say it is made of Teflon, which means you will be able to use it very easily.

In addition, HTC has announced what is supposed to be the substitute of the TouchFLO 3D user interface. I’m talking about a new software interface which will be known under the name of HTC Sense. The same rumors say that the Sense will be available on the future HTC smartphones, irrespective of the platform they’ll be running on (Android or Windows Mobile). The HTC Sense has a nickname, Rosie, and comes with three layers: “Discover the Unexpected”, “Make it Mine” and “Stay Close”.

You will be able to find the Hero in the market, equipped with the Sense user interface, starting next month, under a price that is unknown for the moment.
