HTC P4000

Even from the beginning, HTC was recognized by having a large range of powerful smartphones with a lot of high-end technology features. A new Pocket PC phone model is the HTC P4000. Identical with HTC Mogul, this Windows Mobile smartphone is a CDMA device with Windows Mobile 5 pre-installed.

The HTC P4000 has a solid construction with a resistant plastic case. The rounded edges and a great design give a real business aspect for this smartphone. With 59 x 110 x 18.5mm in dimensions and 165 grams in weight, this handset is exactly what I call slim and light. A thing which you are probably going to love about the HTC P4000 is the slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The keyboard is large, having flat keys with enough space between them. The keys are very responsive and comfortable to press so you can write on them easily. On the front side, you have a five-way navigation button, four soft keys (including OK and Windows) and the classic Call and End buttons. On the sides, you will find a volume rocker, a Wi-Fi button, camera shutter and the power key.

Like other HTC smartphone models, the HTC P4000 has a full touch screen 2.8 inch display with a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.  Supporting 65K colors, this display will offer you clear images with a good contrast and saturation. The touch screen is very responsive, but if you want more accuracy, the bottom right side of the phone hosts a special place where the stylus pen is located.

This smartphone has an integrated 2.0 Megapixel camera which is good for a phone, but it’s also a bit too cheap for this handset. With features like 4x digital zoom and flash LED, the photos have a poor quality of colors, so we recommend that you use it only when you really have to. The internal speaker has loud volume levels and the sounds are clear. The pre-installed portable Windows Media Player version allows you to listen to music or watch movies comfortably and you will enjoy a great quality of images if you put it in landscape mode.

Being a CDMA (800 / 1900 / cdmaOne / CDMA2000 1xRTT / CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rel. 0 / CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A) device, it excels in connectivity terms.  You will be able to stay connected anytime because this smartphone recognizes almost all mobile phone networks. And like other smartphone models it couldn’t lack the EDGE, 3G, GPRS, HDSMA, Wireless, Bluetooth 2.0, Infrared, GPS and miniUSB connectivity features.

Powered by a Qualcomm MSM7500 processor and 64 MB of RAM memory, the HTC P4000 is able to run multi-tasks without any lag. Being such a powerful and great smartphone, it needs to have a big storage capacity. The HTC P4000 has only 256 MB of free space, but it can be extended up to 16 GB with microSD, TransFlash or SIDO cards. The Windows Mobile 5 interface makes this smarphone act like a Pocket PC without a doubt. The pre-installed Microsoft Office Mobile, Windows Media Player, Pocket MSN Messenger, Mobile Internet Explorer browser or many other applications are a delight for people that like to get a kick out of their phone’s functionality.

The Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery will keep this smartphone on for 200 minutes of conversation and 10 days in standby mode. Anyway, if you are looking for a smartphone, we recommend you to buy his handset because you will be surprised by its capacities. For a price of $199 you sure do get a lot of goodies…

HTC P4350

The HTC P4350 is another professional HTC smartphone with Windows Mobile based functions. With a resistant plastic case painted in black with some beautiful silver accents, the HTC P4350 has an excellent business aspect. The entire front face is dominated by a huge touch screen display, but the most important aspect of this phone is that it has a full QWERTY keyboard.

This type of keyboard makes the phone look a bit larger than it actually is but, even so it has only 109 x 59 x 17 mm in dimensions and 168 grams in weight, good values for a smartphone. On the front side, below the display, you will see four soft buttons (including Windows Mobile and OK buttons) and the classic Call and End keys. On the sides you will find a camera shutter, a volume rocker, a microSD card slot, a miniUSB port and two dedicated keys for voice calling and media player.

The full QWERTY keyboard is excellent. Having flat and large keys, with enough space between them, the keyboard is very responsive and comfortable to use. Because the keys are large and offer a positive feedback, you can write easily on them even if you are a fast writer. The HTC P4350 has a 2.8 inch touch screen which has a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. This display supports 65K colors so you will receive great quality of colors with a good contrast. The display is also very responsive, even at the lightest touch, but if you want more accuracy you can use the stylus pen, so even if you have thick fingers you will feel very comfortable using this smartphone.

On the back side, the HTC P4350 has a 2 Megapixel camera which takes pictures with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. Because it lacks auto-focus and flash LED, the images will be a bit unclear with a poor quality (especially if you are in a dark room).  A negative aspect is that the camera shutter presents a bit of lag. Powered by a TI OMAP 850 200 MHz processor and 64 MB of RAM memory, the HTC P4350 is capable of running multi-tasks without problems or lag. It comes with Windows Mobile 5 pre-installed and a lot of helpful applications like Pocket Internet Explorer, Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF viewer) and Windows Media Player.

When it comes to connectivity, the HTC P4350 is a GSM Quad-Band (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) device which supports GPRS, EDGE and HDSMA connections. Like all high-end technology smartphones, it has Bluetooth v2.0, Wireless, miniUSB and microSD connectivity features.  The miniUSB port allows you to connect this smartphone to any computer or laptop for synchronization and the miniSD card slot allows you to extend the internal memory, which has only 128 MB of free space, to a maximum 8 GB. This should be enough for you to store your files, music, photos and movies.

The external stereo speaker has loud volume levels and produces clear and great quality sounds. The Li-Ion 1130 mAh battery is capable of keeping this smartphone on for 5 hours of conversation and 200 hours in standby mode. Anyway, the HTC P4350 is another excellent smartphone made by HTC manufacturer. For $473, you will get a beautiful designed handset with a lot of features and great performance. So if you are looking for a smartphone and don’t know what to choose, we recommend you go with the HTC P4350.

Motorola V551 Cell Phones

Having a great success with its new mobile phone models, Motorola has launched a new model of flip phones with a great combination between features and design named Motorola V551 cell phones. Motorola has proven that you can buy a mobile phone with many technology features at a low price. With a price of $55, the Motorola V551 cell phones are one of the cheapest mobile phones ever seen.

With a case made of perforated metal with a colorized exterior, the Motorola V551 cell phones are sleek with a nice aspect. With only 1.9 x 1 x 3.5 inches in dimensions and 4 ounces in weight, these mobile phones are very slim and light. On the front side (when lid is closed), you will see a blue monochrome display which allow you to see the time, battery and signal levels as well as call information.

Below this display you can find a VGA camera with a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Even if this camera has only a 4x digital zoom, you will be able to take photos at a reasonable quality.  On the sides you will find a Smart key, volume keys and a Voice key (allows you to use the voice dialing feature or to record voice memos). On the top and bottom of the phone you can find a headphone jack, a charger port and an accessory connector.

When you open the lid, you will see a 1.8 LCD TFT display with a native resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. This display supports 65K colors and it will offer you good quality pictures with a great contrast. Below the display you will notice the keypad. The keys are flat, very large with enough space between them, so you can easily write on them, even if you are a fast writer. For menu navigation, the Motorola V551 cell phones have two soft keys, a special Menu key and a 4-D key. These keys are easy to press and are very responsive. There are also Call and End keys, a Camera and a WAP key.

The Motorola V551 is a GSM Quad-Band (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) phone compatible with almost all GSM networks. Being a mid-level mobile phone, it doesn’t have many high-end technology features, but the basic features like Bluetooth, PC sync, GPRS, EDGE, WAP 2.0 and Data port make this phone attractive to quite a large number of customer. Like all similar models, the Motorola V551 supports MP3 and MIDI sound formats, so you can listen to music every time you want. The external speaker has a loud volume, producing a clear sound. If you want to listen to music and the volume of the internal speaker isn’t enough, you can attach a pair of headphones with the integrated headphones jack.

The most disappointing aspect is that this phone has only 5 MB of free space. Since it lacks a card slot, you can store only one or two songs (depends on format) and several images. The Li-Ion battery is capable of keeping this handset up for 237 minutes of conversation and up to 173 hours in standby mode. Anyway, even if these Motorola V551 cell phones don’t have many features and they are not exactly  powerful, for such a small price it really is a great mobile phone.

Nokia 6120 Classic

Nokia’s Symbian smartphones are the best handsets on the market, as they offer a great balance between multimedia features, power and style. The Nokia 6120 classic is another smartphone which combines the multimedia features (from N-Series handsets) with a great design (from E-Series handsets). This phone is designed for those people with particular interest in their social status.

Having 105 x 46 x 15 mm in dimensions and 89 grams in weight, the Nokia 6120 classic is the smallest and lightest smartphone which Nokia has ever made. It fits perfectly into any pocket and feels comfortable in your hands. It has a resistant plastic case with a nice combination of black and silver. To keep the cell phone’s small size, Nokia has chosen to use a 2.0 inch TFT display with a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. With the standard QVGA resolution feature and supporting 16 million colors this display will offer you very detailed images with a great quality.

Below the display you will find the keypad. The keys are a bit small, so if you are a fast writer you will need some time to get used to them. The keys are covered in 2 main colors: gray for the navigation keys and black for the number keys. Even if the keys are a bit small, they give a tactile response and are easy to be pressed.  On the sides, the Nokia 6120 classic has a volume rocker, a camera shutter, a speaker and a microSD card slot.

On the bottom side you will find a miniUSB port, the charger port and a 2.5 mm stereo jack. The Nokia 6120 classic has a 2.0 Megapixels camera which can take photos at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. With many features like flash LED, white-balance, color filter, photo flash and Panorama regime, this camera takes photos with an acceptable quality and good contrast.  The integrated speaker produces clear sounds but the volume levels are pretty weak. If you want to listen to music at a louder volume you will need to connect the stereo headphones.

Powered by an ARM11 369 MHz processor, the Nokia 6120 classic is a Quad-Band GSM / EDGE cell phone which supports 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz in 2G networks and 850 / 2100 in 3G networks. The internal memory has only 35 MB of free space but you can extend it to a maximum of 4 GB with a microSD card.

Because this handset uses Symbian OS v9.2 interface, it has the RealPlayer for watching videos and a music player which is quite similar with the one on the N-Series. With bass boost, stereo widening and reverb features, you will be able to listen to clear and louder music with enough bass. The music player supports MP3, WAV, RA, AAC and M4A sound formats and the RealPlayer will allow you to watch movies with MP4, 3GP and RV-player formats. The LI-Ion 890 mAh battery is capable of keeping this mobile phone on for 3 hours (2G) / 2 hours and 24 minutes (3G) of conversation and up to 250 hours (2G) / 240 hours (3G) in standby mode. Being the smallest Nokia’s smartphone and having a price of $205, this handset has proven to be another great and accessible phone made by Nokia.
