Microvision, a leader in the new generation of display and imaging products for mobile applications, has broken the barrier created by the small cell phone displays for mobile TV applications, with its latest prototype projector, an accessory with the PicoP display engine that is able to turn pictures and video clips into large sharable visual content.

The PicoP engine is based on Microvision's patented MEMS scanner, laser light sources, optics and electronics, all being brought in use by proprietary software.
This accessory projector is easy attachable to a mobile phone, MP3 player or laptop, and is able to magnify the image up to 100 inches, this depending on the focus and distance. It can operate for up to 2.5 hours.

Microvision will present the device at CES 2008 and 3GSM Conference in Barcelona.

The company has designed also the embedded version of the PicoP-based accessory, which can be used in cell phones and other mobile devices including digital cameras and portable computers, to display full color and high-resolution images, maintaining the same low power level.
