What you can see in the picture below is the W902, a Sony Ericsson device that was officially launched together with the company’s much anticipated music service, called PlayNow Plus, which is currently available only for Telenor users in Sweden. This is how things are for the moment, because we suspect that more carriers and more compatible handsets will be added in the future. The PlayNow Plus is nothing but a direct competitor of Nokia’s similar servie, Comes with music, but, in comparison, this one has been launched a little bit later.
The PlayNow Plus was announced back in September, and it was said to offer users the ultimate mobile music experience, giving them the freedom to discover, to download, play and recommend unlimited amounts of music. The great thing about it is the fact that they can do this wherever they are and wherever they like, directly over the mobile data network.

Aimed at setting a new standard for the unlimited music experience on a mobile phone, PlayNow Plus comes with stunning download speeds, high-quality audio and unrestrained access to the largest music catalogue of any unlimited download service. This means that Sony Ericsson’s service guarantees unlimited access to millions of tracks.
Another important aspect is that the service is very easy to use, providing millions of songs that you can have on your PC or phone. And when you think that you’re just one click away from something like this to happen! You need no cables (which is unbelievable) and playNow Plus offers simplicity with 1000 of the best selling songs being already in the phone. You can create your own profile, recommend you music to your PlayNow Plus friends, you can always have the latest news at the palm of your hand with direct links to artists and their songs.
Leonard Hoornik, Corporate Vice President and Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson, said that “all mobile consumers want to have content on their phone, but many find the experience difficult, slow and time consumingâ€. “With PlayNow Plus, there will be no more barriers, we’re giving consumers the freedom to instantly discover, download, play and recommend all the music they want – anytime, anywhereâ€, he added.
Actually, Sony Ericsson has released W902 plus which is basically W902 with preloaded application PlayNow Plus. At this moment, the company is planning to bring more preloaded handsets for its service and at the same time partner carriers for this service.
