Really old cell phone revived

When a cell phone manufacturer takes the decision to revive an old cell phone, but a really old cell phone, if you know what I mean, can be understood in several ways. On one hand, one can think that the company lacks imagination, if they resort to such a solution. When you don’t have the inspiration to create brand new devices, then this is it. You take an old one and you reinvent it. On the other hand, you might think that the company loved the model so much that they just can’t let it go.

Irrespective of the reason that led them into such a direction, Samsung has just announced their idea to revive the Samsung G600 cell phone, a device that saw the light of the day back in 2007. Now, the idea consists of a partnership between the South Korean company and other famous brands. As a consequence of these partnerships, all sorts of old cell phones will be brought to life.

The first one is the Samsung G600 Airness, a slider handset that is expected to become available in France starting the next month (April, to be more precise). The phone will boast some very interesting features, such as a 2.2 inch TFT LCD display, a 5 megapixel camera with MPEG-4 video recording capabilities, MP3 player, FM radio, a microSD card slot and support for viewing PowerPoint, Word, Excel and PDF files.

The phone has a suggested retail price of 199 Euros and you won’t have to sign a contract agreement for it.
