Rugged cell phone from Nokia

Even if Nokia has never been a cell phone manufacturer keen on rugged devices, they have a tradition of such devices that is now completed by the Nokia 3720 classic, which is said to be “the most rugged mobile handset to date” that has been developed by the Finnish company.

The main advantages of the 3720 classic consist of the price, which makes it a very affordable cell phone. So, according to the company, it seems that the Nokia 3720 will retail for a price of no more than 125 Euros (this price doesn’t include taxes or subsidies).

The phone comes with IP-54 certification, which means it is resistant to water, to dust and shock. In addition, there’s a screw to lock the battery cover, for more safety.

The phone measures 115 x 47 x 15.3 millimeters and weighs 94 grams. The battery provides up to 7 hours of talk time and no more than 408 hours of stand-by time.

“Whether using it at the beach or in a dusty construction site, the Nokia 3720 classic has been specifically engineered to withstand the splashes, bumps and drops that come with the terrain”, said Markku Suomi, the Vice President of Connect Devices. He further added: “While the Nokia 3720 classic is tough on the outside, it is equally functional on the inside - a perfect choice for people who want a long-lasting and reliable mobile phone for any environment.”

The new rugged cell phone is said to start selling sometime during this summer in two different colors: grey and a combination of grey and yellow.
