Samsung A887 Solstice

Oh, I don’t know about you, but I’ll soon become sick and tired with this amount of Samsung cell phones that are being announced/unveiled/revealed/released. They seem to be everywhere, from the cheapest models to the expensive ones, which are part of the family of smartphones.

And AT&T, the popular American provider, hadn’t had enough with the Samsung handsets the company has brought in the spotlight, so the newest device to become part of AT&T’s range of products is the A887, which is also known under the name of Solstice.

I am very confused with the names of these cell phones, because when they first appear, we are told to name them “x”, but when they become official, we’re being asked to call them “y”. So, the Solstice shared the same fate, because the name it had made its debut with was Samsung Infinity.

Anyway, the point is Samsung Solstice will become available to the public starting next month. The release date is said to be August 2nd.

Being a mid-end touch sensitive device, the Solstice comes with features like a 2 megapixel camera, assisted GPS, stereo Bluetooth, email and IM, Video Share. As for the price, according to BGR, the handset will be sold for no more than $99.99. It seems that AT&T will give its customers a $50 mail-in rebate, but the condition is the signing of a contract agreement for a period of two years.
