Samsung Delve
Posted by: CameraPhonesPlaza in Samsung
Samsung has always been offering great products in any domain, including cell phones. And if you look at Samsung Delve you will admire its sleek design and the very responsive touch screen interface. Unfortunately for this phone, it does not have Wi-Fi or an accelerometer. It offers though multimedia features, call quality and camera quality proved to be reliable. The phone measures 4.57 inches tall by 2.17 inches wide by 0.49 inch deep, the same size as the Instinct. But Samsung Delve weights less, 3.69 ounces. It feels very nice in your hands, has a sturdy design and the color and silver colors go just great for a classic and elegant look.
It features a 3” display, which is pretty big and it will satisfy most of the users. It has support for 262.000 colors and you will just love how crisp and vibrant the images will look. The pixel resolution is 240x400. You can do some customizations if you like. The menu interface is similar to other Samsung phones, as it uses the TouchWiz interface. You will find the shortcut bar for your messaging, web browser, music player and so on top of the home screen. You can’t customize the shortcut bar unfortunately, but the commands already set are the ones you will mostly use. The keyboards are separate, you have a keyboard for letters, numbers and symbols, and they are all responsive. It is a good thing if you plan on sending lots of e-mails or text messages.

And because it lacks an accelerometer you won’t be able to switch keyboard by simply rotating the phone. The dialer interface on the Samsung Delve is very simple and basic and has large keys for setting shortcuts. On top of the phone you will find the power control that also locks the display. There is also a 3.5mm headset jack, the volume rocker, headset jack/charger port on the left. The camera shutter button, microSD card slot and voice-dialing button sit on the right. The camera does not have a flash, but you can find a self-portrait mirror on the back of the phone.
You will be able to stock 500 contacts in your phone book, and for each another 5 numbers plus contact information. Like any other phone you can group contacts, add polyphonic ringtones, photos and personalize them. Some other features such as vibrate mode, SMS and MMS, calendar, alarm clock, world clock, speakerphone, stop watch, currency convertor are available. There are some improved features as well, stereo Bluetooth for example, voice dialing, GPS, e-mail, USB storage and voice recorder.

It’s a wonder how a HTML full browser phone doesn’t have Wi-Fi. The music player has functions like shuffle, repeat mode and the possibility to create your own playlists. The 2 megapixels camera available takes pictures in six resolutions, you can choose from various quality settings, self-timer, auto-focus, color effects and shutter sounds. Photos taken look rather nice, bright and crisp even though there is no flash, shooting clips is possible in two resolutions. You can choose to personalize the phone with wallpapers, themes, and screensavers and so on.

To conclude, the battery life for Samsung delve is decent, 4.7 hours in talk time and 14 days in stand-by.
