Samsung Propel phone available via AT&T

Maybe you remember when the Samsung Impression and the Samsung Magnet were announced. If you do, then you most surely know that along with these two handsets there was another one, the Samsung Propel Pro, which is already available via AT&T, for those who are interested in purchasing it.

The phone runs on the Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard, which you probably know by now, and comes with a QWERTY keyboard that slides out. The Propel Pro looks quite similar to its predecessor, called Samsung A767 Propel, which can also be bought from AT&T, but this one is a little bit nicer, of course.

The features list of the new Samsung Propel phone includes the following: a quad band GSM / GPRS / EDGE connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), a tri band UMTS / HSDPA connectivity (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHZ), a 2.55 inches TFT display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and 65K colors, a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, an internal memory of 10MB and a microSDHC card slot for expandable memory of no more than 16GB.

The phone measures 3.9 x 2.4 x 0.60 inches and weighs 4.83 ounces, providing up to 6 hours of talk time and no more than 12 days of stand-by time.

“The slider design with built-in QWERTY keyboard of the Samsung Propel was a very popular form factor for us”, said Bill Ogle, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung Telecommunications America. In addition, he said that “the new Propel Pro takes that compact design and adds the power of a smartphone making it ideal for users who want to take their business with them”.

The Samsung Propel Pro is available online, at the AT&T’s official website, but also in selected retail stores. You can buy the device for $149.99, but in order to get this price, with a $50 mail-in rebate, you’ll have to sign a 2 year contract agreement. If, on the other hand, you don’t want to do this, you must be willing to spend $349.99.
