Samsung touchscreen phone goes to UK

Samsung S5600, which is also known in the market as Samsung Preston, was launched in the same time with another cheap device, caled S5230, being both targeted at the European customers. The S5600 has just been launched in the United Kingdom, the provider to sell it being Orange, which is the first to offer this new Samsung touchscreen phone to the British people.

As I said before, the S5600 was announced along with the S5230 and features a 2.8 inches TFT touch sensitive display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, a 3 megapixel camera, pretty good for taking nice pictures wherever you go, with QVGA video recording at 15 frames per second, Bluetooth 2.1, FM radio, and a memory of no more than 80MB. But you can expand the memory using the microSD card slot, with no more than 8GB.

Available in only one color (black, to be more precise), even though the pink and the white ones are expected to start selling sometime at the end of this year, the S5600 has a price of £159.50, which means approximately $258, on pay as you go. You can have your own Samsung S5600 for free, of course, but only if you want a contract agreement which you’ll be signing for two years. You’ll pay a monthly fee of at least £20. The phone is available online.
