Scrolling mobile phone concept
Posted by: Vlad Balan in Concepts

Here's an interesting concept phone designed by Yun Liang. Inspired from traditional Chinese Scrolls, the phone has a display that, when not in use, neatly rolls into the tube.
All numeric key functions remain tactile running along the side of the scroll as opposed to touchscreen. This makes it possible to use without having to unroll the screen. You would only do so when accessing media and data.

I think this is my favorite design I’ve seen yet. VERY cool. Especially the fact that you don’t always have to roll it out to use it. The only thing I might add to it would be a supplemental LCD screen on the outside to display things like caller ID, battery strength, and incoming SMS messages. I’d definitely carry a phone like this.
