Sony Ericsson Newest Slider Phone
Posted by: CameraPhonesPlaza in Sony Ericsson
Sony Ericsson is one of those companies that do not release one phone per year or once in six months, but regularly, so this is why it is so hard to keep track of the Sony Ericsson newest slider phone.
For example, you can clearly see how often these types of phone appear, monthly actually. At least recently, on the market we can find the Xperia Play, Xperia Pro, Xperia mini Pro, Xperia mini 10 Pro and all starting to come out at the final of 2010 and at the beginning of 2011. We can surely say that the company has enough resources to pull out some of the most-equipped mobile phones and in such a short period of time. But perhaps, until now that is, launched this month, in May, is Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro. This mobile phone captures 720p videos, has the sliding keyboard and other great features we will mention later on. But because sometimes things are rushed, we can obviously see some disadvantages as well. In this case we can state the build quality and the menu system, both of them being unsatisfying.

Because of the plastic feel the phone is categorized as being “cheap”, but this does not refer to the price, but to the build quality. Even the buttons are somehow unresponsive. The sliding mechanism is not too sturdy and if you apply some more pressure, then you can accidentally catch the front panel in the individual keys of the keyboard. But let’s move on and see some good sides of the phone as well. We can mention here the slim and sleek profile, looking attractive if I might say, especially if you are fond of the rounded back. On the back you can find the 5.1 megapixels camera, which is placed in an unfortunate location, because the phone will always stay on the camera because of the rounded design, so less protection is assured. If something misfortunate happens, for example if you sit on the phone, then the lenses will crack for sure.

You can choose from the two color options on the market, the white model looking cleaner and sharper. Below the screen you can find three keys in the center and dedicated buttons on the side. Because the keys are so small and flat to the surface, you might have trouble finding them from the start. The display is positioned awkward, because it is too close to the keys and it seems like too much space if left above it. If we have mentioned the display, let’s take a closer look at it. It measures 3.2” TFT, resistive (which takes a little more pressure to navigate). And there were some argues online about the Symbian operating system, as Nokia users were complaining of being out-of date and sluggish. In this case, people complain again, as the menu style is harder to navigate and tad complicated. There are some widgets on the home screen, including Twitter, photo browsing, adding a contact shortcut and in order to bring up the whole menu, you just need to hit the central key. The procedure is simple indeed, but you have fewer opportunities to customize the home screen.

The keys on the keyboard are nicely spaced and very comfortable. When you will be typing, there will surely be fewer mistakes to handle with, which is great news. To conclude, the phone is equipped with a 5.1 megapixels camera, 3G and Wi-Fi.
