Sony Ericsson Phone

Several years ago, Sony Ericsson has presented to the whole world a concept of Walkman mobile phone that is focused on playing multimedia content with a quality compared to a dedicated device.  The implementation of Walkman technology on a smartphone led to the launching of Sony Ericsson W950i, a model that has enjoyed a huge success being the top of the Walkman range.

This Sony Ericsson phone makes a great impression even at the first look. For a smartphone, it has great dimensions. The case measures 106 x 54 x 15 mm in dimensions and 112 grams in weight.  With these dimensions, it feels great in your pocket and very comfortable in your hands.

The front side of this phone is occupied by a huge 2.6 inch touch sensitive display and an innovative numerical pad. Because we are talking about a Walkman phone, we have to mention something about the multimedia buttons. On the front side, between display and the numerical pad, this Sony Ericsson phone has three dedicated buttons which, once pressed, will open the phone’s music player and show you the last song you have listened to. On the sides it has a volume rocker, a Play/Pause Multimedia key, a Back key and a Scrolling Key. On the top side you will find the Power On/off button and a Stylus Pen slot while on the bottom part you will find a universal port which allows you to charge the phone, attach headphones or connect it via USB.

This Sony Ericsson phone comes with a lot of features. It is equipped with a 2.6 inch TFT touch sensitive display with a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. It has proven to be excellent for watching videos or simply viewing photos. It offers great quality of colors with a great contrast and brightness. To make this cell phone more easy to use, the Sony Ericsson designers equipped it with touch sensitive feature which gives you more freedom in the menu. If you want to be more precise, you can use the integrated Stylus pen which is made of special plastic so you don’t need to worry about scratching the display. For those who love photography, this model can be a bad choice because it lacks camera. But why you need a camera when you have such a powerful smartphone?

In connectivity terms, the Sony Ericsson W950i looks ready to meet all your needs. Being a Quad-Band device it supports GSM, EDGE GPRS and 3G networks. Other connectivity options are Bluetooth, Infrared and USB. Even if lacks Wi-Fi and GPS, with all these connectivity features it has proven to be excellent for people who want to surf on the internet all the day. The connections are very stabile and thanks to the 32-bit Philips Nexperia PNX4008 208 MHz processor you won’t notice any lag or other malfunctions. The internal memory of 4 GB should be enough for you to store all your files. For a good battery life, this Sony Ericsson phone comes with a standard Li-Ion battery which is capable of keeping it on for almost 8 hours of conversations and up to 340 hours in standby mode. Anyway, even if it doesn’t come with the most powerful features on the market, the Sony Ericsson W950i was one of the best smartphones at the time when it was launched. So, if you are looking for a multimedia smartphone, this model can be a good choice for you.
