Sony Ericsson W350 Review
Posted by: CameraPhonesPlaza in Sony Ericsson
Sony Ericsson w350 has a unique design and what is more forms part of the Sony Ericsson Walkman edition. There are lots of controversial opinions on this phone, as the flip case bother some, it only protects the keyboard and doesn’t not have any other functions. But we must admit that when you flip the case it looks different than other cell phones and this is what makes it unique.
What is more the positive points we can give are on the Music Player with FM radio and Bluetooth stereo support. And on the other hand it does not provide a headphone jack, has limited internet capabilities and the memory card slot is placed inconveniently.

As we mention above the design is a strong point on this phone as it is more unusual. For those who want to keep the keys protected this is the right phone as the matchbook flip design does its job. And there are music keys right below the screen in order to switch from playlists and songs without having to flip the phone. But unfortunately, the design might be the one good feature of this phone as other functions are hard to handle. For example the external key layout is hard to use and the keys are a bit cramped. The 4-way navigator key is not a full circle and you could end up pressing the wrong one by mistake. Even if the phone is slim, using it can turn out to be difficult. Even the calling quality was not that exceptional, they sounded deeper than normal voices, such as being in a tunnel. But the battery life is very good, just what a Walkman phone needs, in call time the estimated duration is 7 hours. Messaging includes both SMS and MMS, typing on the Sony Ericsson w350 might be a bit difficult at start, but eventually you will get the grip.

The Music player on the Sony Ericsson w350 looks a bit different than other Walkman phones, maybe because of the low resolution of the screen. It has the basic commands and navigating through the menu is difficult using these types of controls. One thing this phone should be proud of would be the 1.3-megapixel camera. It takes really nice pictures and the colors look actually bright and vivid. At lower zoom levels they look even better than on full crop, where you can obviously see the pixels. You can choose to navigate the internet using Sony web browser loading web pages in full layout with no trouble. There were some full images that didn’t manage to fully load and some of the larger graphics also. But scrolling through the pages works nice and smooth and the text looks clear and sharp.

Other features of the Sony Ericsson w350 include polyphonic ringtones, speakerphone, vibrating alert, USB mass storage, flight mode so you can still play games, listen to music while you are during flight, organizational tools such as calculator, alarm clock, tasks, timer, notes and calendar, some preloaded applications like Mobile banking, XM Radio, Yellowpages.com, America’s Best Mobile Pix. You can choose to play trial of certain games, or download from the internet and transfer them to your phone. Finally, the phone measures 4.08 x 1.67 x 0.43 inches and weights 2.82 ounces.
