Streaming-music-to-cell-phone software

To tell you the truth, I didn’t really know what in earth Spotify was, or at least not until I ran into an article related to it. Finding myself in the position of not knowing anything about this streaming music service, I made some research and I found out that “is a Sweden-based proprietary music streaming program which allows listening to specific music without delay via browsing artists, albums or created playlists”. Therefore, Europeans might be more familiar with it compared to others.

Gustav Söderström, the guy who was Director of Product Management and then Director of Business Development at Yahoo, for a couple of years (two, to be more precise), decided to leave the famous company because he had something else in his mind. Meaning Spotify.

Talking about its product, Gustav Söderström says that he enjoyed the most unbelievable reaction coming from the people he knew that got the chance to use Spotify. And the surprise was generated by the fact that the service actually worked. The whole point of Spotify is that there is no need for you to store millions of songs that are available nowadays, because you’re now given the possibility to listen to your favorite music even if it’s not stored on your hard drive. There is only one thing that you are supposed to do: to just create and keep playlists with the songs you love most and get connected with the outer world.

Now, as you all know, more and more people become addicted to their mobile phones. So, the next logical step in the development of this streaming music software is to make it work with cell phones. And, according to Gustav Söderström’s confession (which can be read on his blog), his team has already made the plans for working on the Spotify Mobile version which is said to get started sometime in February. In the given context, you probably imagine that there are no additional details as far as the availability is concerned.

Therefore, this is all we know about this new streaming-music-to-cell-phone software. But we’ll be back with further information.
