The Ascent Ti Damascus Steel, a new Vertu cell phone

We had Mobiado, with the business cell phones called Grand 350PRL; we also had Gresso, with the Gresso Lady Gold, the phone for her, and the Gresso Ultramarine Gold, aimed at him. And we have now our share of Vertu news, about the Ascent Ti Damascus Steel, the latest handset announced by the division of luxury phone from Nokia.

Being part of the Ascent Ti collection, this cell phone is designed from scratch using the most advanced techniques available today, such as the “ancient steel forging”, which is meant to increase as much as possible the hardness of the metal the phone is made of. Advanced I say, even if it seems that the technique I mentioned earlier isn’t new, as the Samurai swords were always made using it.

As for the features, you shouldn’t expect anything spectacular or different from the other phones of the Ascent Ti family. The Damascus Steel comes with a QVGA display, GSM/UMTS connectivity, the S40 user interface, a 3.2 megapixel camera equipped with LED flash an an internal memory of 4GB, which is quite impressive, especially when compared to other cell phones available right now in the market.

As usual, this new Vertu cell phone will be part of a limited edition, of no more than 100 units. They will all be unique, due to the hand-made swirl design. Unfortunately, the price wasn’t unveiled, but I wouldn’t put my hopes too up. It wil be expensive, there’s no doubt about it.
