The new Philips 699 stylish phone

Although Philips 699 is a device that proved to be very suitable for the large market, it is a device that received little attention lately. Its stylish looks and average performances are at an affordable cost, and many people would like to own such a phone.

Although it could be considered quite large, the phone has some acceptable sizes, with a FT touchscreen that takes up most of this phone's surface. Being 15 mm thick, it is comfortable to use and does not leave the impression of being too fragile.

The phone features an internal memory of 11 MB, this being insufficient even for the most basic needs of the user, but a microSD card is available to make up for the lack of space.

Connectivity is available through miniUSB and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP; furthermore, one impressive feature is the phone's handwriting recognition, which will prove to be useful for the native Chinese phone users, who will have the ability of introducing text by using their classic characters.

Philips 699 packs a WAP browser and GPRS class 10 services, as well as a music and video player, a female calendar, a weight management and international converter. A dictionary that converts English to Chinese is also available, and moreover, the phone is capable of handling two SIM cards at the same time.

Philips 699 will be available on the Chinese market during the third quarter of this year and it bears little or no chances of reaching markets outside this area.
