The new Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry 8820




Rim has officially announced the Blackberry 8820, which is to be the company’s first phone with integrated Wi-Fi. The phone supports 802.11a/b/g standards, being submissive with WEP and WPA Wi-Fi security protocols. The 8820 has built-in GPS for out-of-the-box support for location-based services such as TeleNav GPS Navigator. Moreover, it possesses EDGE support, Bluetooth 2.0, and an expansion slot that accepts microSD and microSDHC memory cards. Although no 3G, the 8820 will be the thinnest Blackberry with a full QWERTY keyboard.

The price and exact release date are yet unknown.
