The Sony Ericsson K850 5MP Camera Phone Released

The famous Sony Ericsson K850 mobile phone announced in June this year has just been made available for the public.

It is worth the whole $899.99 retail price because of its 5 MP Cyber-Shot camera, 3.5G High-Speed Downlink Packet Access, 3G video calling, 100m Bluetooth, Web Access with NetFront browser included, multiple audio playback with supported formats including AAC, WAV, MP3, and WMA; Media Center and the Sony PSP/PS3 XrossMediaBar menu; and the video player’s functions: progressive fast forward and slow motion.

Next we get a Memory Stick Micro, Sony's proprietary memory format, of 512 MB, and SanDisk microSD support besides the internal memory of 40 MB.
The phone stands up to 9 hours in talk time with the BST-38 3.6 V, 930 mAh, Lithium Polymer battery.
More details about the main feature of the K850:
The 5MP camera has a 16x digital zoom, natural color rendering feature, a built-in Xenon Flash plus three LED flash for recordings and AF illuminator.
The AF illuminator characteristic is specific to stand alone digital cameras.
When in camera mode, the keyboard is so soft and light that it is very easy to find the view mode, thumbnail view, selftimer, and flash shortcut buttons.
The bundled Photo Fix software allows you to change brightness and contract of the pictures.
For filming you have a QVGA of 320*240 and 30 frames per second.

And let’s take a look at its design a little.
First we see the screen which is of 2.2” where we have a 262,144 color TFT LCD display.
We can also choose from two available colors for the phone look, Luminous Green or Velvet Blue.
The K850 camera kept the Cyber Shot digital cameras design.
All this measures 4 x 1.9 x 0.7 inches and weighs 4.2 oz.
With the new button model introduced by Sony to replace the uncomfortable joystick, the users can easily switch between picture, video and playback modes.
The model comes in several variants: K850i for selected markets and K858c for China.
