Two Philips phones expecting to be released
Posted by: Maria Mihale in Philips
It seems that companies have many cell phones to present to the public in this time of year and they come with an offer we can’t refuse: they don’t give us one handset, but two or even more. So relax, guys, get your umbrella and a glass of Martini, laze under the summer sun and hear what they have prepared for you.

Philips, for example, is ready to “give birth” to two new cell phones, which were baptized before their release with the following names: C600 and W186.
Let’s talk about the first one, the Philips C600. The handset is a dual-mode one, which means it is able to work on two networks: both on tri band GSM networks (900/1800/1900 MHz) and on CDMA 800 MHz. A very interesting aspect consists of the fact that there are two different call keys which are dedicated to each of the two networks.

As for the features, it’s possible that you won’t be impressed, but here we go: a 2.4 inch QVGA touch sensitive display, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, MP3 player, an internal memory of only 2.5 megapixel (oh my God!, this is worse than my ex-phone, a Nokia 6170 with no more than 4MB of memory and no card support) and a microSD card support, for expandable memory of up to 2GB.

The second cell phone, the Philips W186, was designed for the Wo brand, of China Unicom. It comes with tri band GSM and dual band UMTS, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, a 2 inch TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, Bluetooth with A2DP connectivity, FM radio, an internal memory of 150MB (decent, compared to the other one) and a microSD card slot for external memory of no more than 8GB.

We don’t know when the Philips phones will come out, nor the prices.
