W395, a Sony Ericsson walkman phone for music addicts
Posted by: Maria Mihale in Sony Ericsson
Teenagers are crazy about music. I don’t assert that they are the only ones, ‘cause I know it’s not possible, but they’re more predisposed to listen to music all day long, maybe because when you’re not an adult you have more time for yourself and for your hobbies.
This is the reason why they’re also crazy about music gadgets of all sorts, from MP3 players, to iPods and music centric cell phones.

As an answer to a very specific need, Sony Ericsson has just announced a brand new walkman phone in the same day when two Cyber-shots made their appearance in the world of mobile phones. The W395, which you might have run into previously under the name of Sony Ericsson Yao, is an entry-level slider that is meant to bring “great music to the massesâ€.
Aimed at youth (not exclusively, but mainly), the Sony Ericsson walkman phone comes equipped with “large, powerful built-in stereo speakers†and, of course, with control keys dedicated to manage the music.
As far as the features are concerned, they include: quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (850/900/1800/1900), a Crystal clear 2.0 inch display with a resolution of 176x220 pixels, 262K colors and resistance to scratches, a 2 megapixel camera with up to 2.5x digital zoom, photo fix, picture blogging and video recording capabilities, the walkman player, that has TrackID and PlayNow, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, USB support, FM radio, motion gaming support, an internal memory of up to 10MB and memory card support.

Available in two color versions, Dusky Grey and Blush Titanium, the phone measures 96x47x14.9 millimeters and weighs 96 grams. The battery provides up to 8 hours of talk time GSM/GPRS, up to 480 hours of stand-by time and up to 12 hours 30 minutes of music listening time.
The Sony Ericsson Walkman phone is expected to become available this quarter, but the price is still unknown. However, don’t worry about it, in the press release it’s said to be affordable.
