Waterproof cell phone from Sharp is also solar-powered
Posted by: Maria Mihale in KDDI
At first glance, people are tempted to think that solar-powered cell phones, for example, have nothing to do with intuition, due to the fact that such devices are usually carried in a pocket or, why not, in a bag or purse. This means that whenever you run out of battery you will have to wait until you get home in order to have it all charged and ready to be used. But the bad thing is that such thing usually happens in the evening, when the sun has already gone to bed.

Not to mention the fact that situations like those when lacking electricity can easily make you turn your attention towards solar-powered gadgets. It’s hard to imagine that such situations can happen in this developing world we all live in these days, but everything’s possible.
And what would you say about a device that isn’t only solar-powered, but also a waterproof cell phone? It sounds spectacular, isn’t it? And here you have a shiny handset designed and developed by Sharp and the Japanese company AU (KDDI).
The phone has no name for the moment, but it is said that it will be released sometimes in June. A great thing about it is the fact that every time you charge, and it won’t take you more than 10 minutes, you will get approximately 2 hours of stand-by time and one minute of talk time. One minute, for God’s sake? One minute is a little bit disappointing, if you know what I mean.
Unfortunately, we don’t have other features at our disposal, but what we know is that a waterproof cell phone, powered by sun, would be a very nice idea.
