Will the next Android phone be a Samsung?

It’s been a while since we last covered a subject related to the Android platform and it’s quite strange because we all know the sensation it created when it was launched and how manufacturers rushed to have an Adroid-based device of their own. I don’t know the reason of such thing to happen, but I would really like to see that it wasn’t just a phase of the mobile phone world.

Sometimes we get excited a little bit too fast about some things and, surprisingly, we don’t care very much about the fact that they disappear from the spotlight. And do you know why? Because other things always come to replace them and we don’t have the time to react.

In the given context, I’m happy to tell you about a brand new device which is said to be not only the next Android phone, but also the first Samsung handset that is based on the Android platform. It’s true that many people had the impression (which proved to be wrong) that another Samsung phone was the blessed one: Samsung S8000, to be more precise. But things turned out to be a little bit different. The first Samsung phone to come with the Google platform is going to be the i7500.

The phone comes with the following features: the Android 1.5, first of all, then a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, dual band UMTS/HSPA connectivity, a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels (a HVGA one), a 5 megapixel camera equipped with LED flash, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headset jack and a processor of 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A. As for the capacity storage, there is an internal memory of 8GB and a microSD card slot for external memory.

According to some rumors, the Samsung i7500, aka the next Android phone, is said to become available in Germany, most probably in June, and it is going to be sold on an exclusive basis by O2. As for the price, it will cost approximately €300, which means no more than $400.
