For those who don’t know what Windows Mobile is, I’m sure you are familiar with Wikipedia and the statute it has in the virtual world, of a genuine wonder maker that is able to answer any question that you might have. So, “Windows Mobile is a compact operating system combined with a suite of basic applications for mobile devices based on the Microsoft Win32 APIâ€.

If you are one of those who are waiting for the next generation of the Windows Mobile operating system, being sick and tired of the 6.1 version, then you will most certainly celebrate the news I’m about to give you. The brand new Windows Mobile 6.5 is expected to become available starting this summer, which means that the third quarter of 2009 will be the beginning of a new era.
Microsoft is said to deliver the operating system to handset manufacturers, but up until that moment the Windows Mobile 6.5 will make its debut during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) which will take place in Barcelona, between 16 and 19 February. The event will be, in fact, the official announcement of the new operating system.
If you are interested in the specifications of the 6.5 version, I’m afraid you will have to be patient, because there is little information on the novelties Microsoft is preparing for its customers. Nevertheless, there are two images that people can find on the Internet that leaked at the end of the last year, sometime in November.
Now, what people are curious about refers to what mobile phones manufacturers will be the first to release Windows Mobile 6.5-based devices, as we’re talking about a genuine privilege of using this highly-anticipated operating system. Unfortunately, famous companies like Samsung, LG or Sony Ericsson will just have to wait, armed with tons of patience.
