Windows Mobile smartphone from Mio Technology

I don’t know how many of you have heard about Mio Technology, but what you should know about this company is that it is specialized in manufacturing all sorts of Personal Navigation Devices, PDAs and, of course, smartphone. It seems that the Taiwan-based company is preparing these days the release of a brand new smartphone, running on the Windows Mobile operating system.

Dubbed Mio Amber, the phone hasn’t been given the official treatment yet, but there are some rumors and pictures of the device circulating on the Web. More than that, there is also a full list of features to help you make a first impression.

As I said earlier, the phone runs on the Windows Mobile OS, the 6.5 version, and it’s quite well equipped: a 3.61 inches WVGA touch sensitive display, GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA connectivity, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, a second camera, a VGA one, which is probably aimed at video calls, G sensor, GPS and assisted GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7201A Turbo processor, 256 RAM, 512MB ROM, FM transmitter, noise cancellation, a microSD card slot and a 1500 mAh battery.

The company has not announced the release date of the Mio Amber, nor the price, but we’re looking forward for more details to become available, so stay tuned!
